2 Messages from Coach

You know, the more I think about today's game the more pissed off I get because of all the stupid mistakes we made that allowed Huntsville to score. We totally dominated this game. We probably had 75% of the possession and yet were losing by 14/15 points at half-time. They had about 4 penalty goals that all came from mistakes we just should not have made. Standing at the side of a ruck! That's offside! Back foot guys, we know this.
On a positive note we were stringing together some fantastic phase play. I counted about 15 phases at one point. We still need to work on our presentation at the rucks and mauls, but for the most part it was pretty good. Finishing too needs work. The first 20 minutes we were camped in their 22 and couldn't put on any points. We will work on all of this at practice this week.
In the context of where we were last season (including losing to these guys 60-0) this game was a huge step up. Huntsville were rotating players in and out all game long (and still had 3 game ending injuries), we made 3 subs with 15 minutes to go. It was a huge effort by all of you. Too huge to go unrewarded. That's why we will work on the weaknesses and make sure that next week, Sewanee gets the full force of NOOGA RUGBY!!!

Jared.

I should also mention the man of the match awards. Well done to Forward of the match Justin and back of the match Ethan, with M-o-t-M going to Justin. Also, the forward of the match award was a close run thing between Justin and Jeff Z. I believe this was only Jeff's 2nd game ever, and it was a great performance. So well done to all 3 of you.
Practice, Tuesday starts at 6:30pm. See you there.

Jared.

Word From Coach

This Saturday (September 6th) we will be scrimmaging. We will meet at the Rossville field at 12pm and be kicking off at 1pm. The purpose of this scrimmage is to get our first team running together before our first game the following Saturday at home against the Atlanta Bucks. We need everyone there to assist. I want this to be a full on scrimmage, so even if you don't plan on playing full time this season, you can help by being there to provide opposition. Everyone who plans on playing A-side must be there. Also, EVERY potential A-side player must be CIPPed AND dues paid (or arrangements made with either Wayne or Jack).
This needs to be a full on scrimmage. A week after the Bucks we have Huntsville who are now in our Matrix league. Please come out and support either vocally or as opposition.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Jared.

Rugby Union's new order (New Fall Season Rules)

These are the new Rules for this Season of Rugby.

Grounding of mauls by defending teams: Previously teams were not allowed to collapse a maul. Now they can only do so by pulling another player down between the shoulder and the hips. If they ground it by grabbing their opposition outwith this area, it is still an offence.

Distance from scrums: Backlines must stay at least five metres away from the back of the scrum. Previously, they had to be level with the back foot of the scrum.

Passing back into the 22 to kick for territory: If the ball is passed back to within the 22 from outwith that area to be kicked into touch, there will no longer be any ground gained. However, if the ball started within the player's 22 metre line then it can be kicked into touch for a gain of ground as normal.

No player restrictions at line-outs: Each team's line-out must have at least two players in it, but as long as all players involved fit within the space between the five metre line and the 15 metre line, there is no upper limit. Previously, teams had to have equal or less than their opponents.

Defending line-outs: The receiver at the lineout (usually the scrum-half) must be two metres away from the lineout, while the player in opposition to the one throwing in the ball (usually the hooker) must stand in the area between the five metre line and the touchline but two metres away from the five-metre line. Previously, neither the scrum-half or hooker had to be two metres away.

Pre-gripping in line-outs: Players who are lifting in the line-out no longer need to wait until the ball has been released by the thrower before they grip the player being lifted. This formalises what players were doing in any case.

A message from our coach Jared Pulling

Team,

First of all, that was one hell of a tourney this past weekend. A huge congratulations to everyone involved in setting that up. Jack, Doug & Angie, Pete and Scotty, your leadership got us where we needed to be. You certainly have my appreciation. All three of the teams that we played, when going down the tunnel, made a point thanking us for putting on a great tournament. I just thought you should know that. For me, what stood out the most was it showed just how great Chattanooga Rugby Club could be and how respected we are. The old boys support and the new blood that's coming in. If we could somehow get some of the older talent playing, combining with the new blood, bringing them up, in my opinion, we could have a team that could beat anything in D2.
So with the Fall season in mind. I believe we have our first game, at home, on September 6th. Right now I am planning on taking a break and starting practices again on August 26th. I may go a week earlier depending on any kind of response I get from people. But so you know, there will not be any practices this week. Stay fit, and I will see you on 8/26.

Jared.

UGA Rugby looking for Chattanooga favor

Hey Chattanooga guys,

My name's Doug Porter and I'm the coach at U of Georgia. We have a
player who lives in or near Chattanooga who wants to try out for the
South Collegiate All Stars which is this Wednesday through Sunday in
Atlanta (Marietta, I believe at Life University).

Unfortunately he doesn't have transportation.

Since I believe some of you are at UTC I was hoping someone from UTC
would be going down to the tryouts and could give our guy a ride.

If you can, or have any ideas on this, please call me, 706-742-2738 or
email me doug@lynxdgs.com (and please make sure the word Rugby is in
there somewhere so it gets past my spam filters).

cheers,

doug

Word From Coach

Guys,

My son's soccer team has been training at D1 on Wednesday nights. A few weeks ago they started to offer it to the parents as well. I have been taking part, and these guys do a pretty good job of working to the level of the group. Now Summer is coming our numbers are dropping and we need some people to join us to keep up the sessions. We are starting a new 6 week session on Wednesday next week. Because of the size of the group, the cost is $10 per person, per session, which is a huge reduction on the usual price of working at D1, especially is you were to go as an individual. Please drop me a line to let me know if you are interested in joining our group. It's only an hour from 6:30pm, but it's fun, and as good as you make it. Again, tell me if you're interested so I can let them know the numbers and then they can better plan the session.

Cheers,

Jared.

We meet at 7pm at the field in Rossville every Tuesday and Thursday. Get your butts out there.

Two messages from Coach

Team,

I suppose yesterday's game with Augusta could have been a lot worse. We did pretty well against them during the early parts of the first half, and then fell away. Our try was without doubt the best try Nooga has scored since I have been coach. Penalty, a well won lineout, set up maul and drive with Ryan controlling the forwards drive and scoring as it crossed the line. It was a great try, we were only down 10-5 at that point and looked dominant. Augusta's heads dropped, and instead of taking control of the game we ran out of steam. There were aspects of the game that we continued to do very well in, but our lineout fell apart, and defensively we lost the plot and were just all over the place.
I know many of you feel that was a good game, but if you're satisfied with that, then bottom of the table is where will always be. There are 2 reasons we lost that game - fitness and lack of practice. We have had 3 weeks off, and yet we have had barely any practices with double figures attending. Most of you have seen 3 weeks off as an excuse to skip practice. There are some who attended every single practice and I appreciate your dedication.
I have said before, if the consensus is that this is a recreational team, then fine, that makes my life much easier. But every time I have asked you, every one has said "no, we want to compete". Well it's time to put your money where your mouth is. We have two very 'winnable' games coming up. Old White this weekend in Nashville and then we finish off with the Renegades at home. If we play our best rugby, they have no chance. If!
Those of you who drove to Augusta. Many thanks for taking on that responsibility. If you would like to get some money back for the gas you spent, please contact Pete Steyn (I put his e-mail in the cc above).
I would be remiss if I didn't mention our Man-of-the-match. While there were some very good performances on the field, I nominated Chewie (Jonathan Crabtree - incase you didn't know his real name!) as M-o-t-M for saving our skins and buying what turned out to be an excellent set of jerseys. I actually think, given the heat, that they were better than our regular jerseys. Only $10 each and I think every single one survived. They also looked really good. Thanks Chewie.
Practice - Tuesday, 6:30pm, Rossville. See you at practice.

Jared.

Second Message:

Team,

I forgot to mention: We will have two notable omissions from our final two games. It looks like Caleb broke his collar bone during yesterday's game and Pat is getting married.
Here's wishing you both a speedy recovery! Just kidding Pat.

The clubs very best wishes to both of you.

Jared.

Word from coach

Guys,

I am moving practice. I will be running practice at 6:30pm at the Rossville field. It looks like we may have lost our field at East Lake Rec - until about 7:30pm at least. So I am moving us. The start time is a little early for some of you, but it's needed in order to get in enough work before it gets dark. We will practice until it's dark or 9pm, whichever comes first.
I guess we will see how many players actually read their e-mails.

Word From Coach

We have a game in 2 weeks. We have practice Tuesday and Thursday this week and next. We will also have a practice this Saturday at the Rossville field. Practice starts at 7pm Tuesday and Thursday and we will start at 12:30pm on Saturday.
We need a good run into our 6th game. Get your priorities sorted out and get your ass to practice.

Jared.

Hey guys (lot to read)

I am sorry I haven't shown up for practice, But I had my spring break and all I was doing is working to catch up with all my school work. Also I have had a Family accident last Thursday and my Brother is having surgery tomorrow, so I will come to practice, but won't be much in a mood until I know he is better.

Anyways Let's get Down to Business;

1) I will Start finding Tips and Video's on the internet again.

--------------------------------

2) DVD List:
I have 7 Names, that is great. And Every guy is getting (like the full season) with is about 3 dvd's (Maybe Four).

But so here it is in Details: 7 People + 3DVD = $105 Dollars
So what I am trying to Say again, If I get another 7 more People to Get some of these DVD's. There will be $210 -$50 (Buying DVD's) = $160

$160 Bucks for the Club

--------------------------------

3) Phyllis who has been in Charge of the chattanoogarugby.com for some time now. She is about to give me all the info to start working on it and update it.
Oh if you guys didn't know I have been put in charge of the site, you could say.
Some time this week I should have control.

--------------------------------

4) I know some of you may not want to do it. But I think it will help the Team in a Big way. We and I mean YOU , yes YOU reading this right now join the Nooga Forum . All the other teams have one, and well I think it will help us in a Great way. So please just start to join and it will get better.

First Try of the Season for Nooga

I just made a Quick Video of our first try of the season. Hope you guys enjoy.

About the Knoxville Video:
Normally I should have it done right now. But this week I am on spring Break, and well I can't relax. The Reason why is because I have a Lot of Programing stuff I need to study for and I have 14 test online I need to get done by the end of Sunday. So I am a bit tied up.

I will try to work on it as soon as possible.

Nooga games maybe on DVD

I have recently found out I have a DVD burner (Wish I knew before) and well for the most of you asking me about them. I can make DVD now. But I have told some of you I may Charge and I think I am going to do that.

I am Charging Because I don't want to pay for every DVD, So I am still looking how much I may charge. But I am looking at $5.00 Per DVD. If I am right, After I sell 5 DVD I will have paid for 50 DVD-R.(More DVD to record on)

So I would Take about $1.00 For DVD and Sleeves.
And the $4.00 Would go back to the Club.

So I have made a Order sheet if you want to order some DVD's, or if you just want to hit me up and tell me what you want. ( ianjamescooper86@yahoo.com )
(I am Only doing this to Help are team)

Note: If you get Games 1-8. I will have to make 2 DVD. To much for 1 DVD. So on the Sheet write 1, or make sure you tell me 1.

Examples are on the Sheet if you want to see how it work.

Use this One to Print if you wish to order (Below)

Problem with Stage 6 (where I put Video's on the net)

(Update: Feb 26 , 10:12PM)
So what I think you guy's should do if you can, Download them all the Rugby Video's. Unless you want to wait until the end of the year and then you can get them again, but I will charge for the Club.

Click here for All rugby Video (Only Games)

--------------------------------------------

"Stage6 announced that it would be shut down on February 28, 2008." I though people were lieing about it on the site but it ends up being true.

Click for Article about Stage 6 shutting down

So I may need some help finding a new place to put video's on the net. If I can find something on the internet then. I will do what I said about maybe making CD or DVD at the end of the Year.

Idea to help the Club out

As some of you guys know I do my own Video editing and also do my own game recording. So I was thinking I know some of you watch it on the internet, but some are having problems watching it.

So here is what i am thinking.

At the End of every season, I will sell the game on CD (Will try DVD) to help the Club out. I would take some of the money for CD and Slips for the CD. But the Rest Would go back to the Club.

So I have right now:

*Chattanooga Vs Renadages
*Chattanooga Vs Knoxville
*Chattanooga Vs Augusta
*Rugby beer games (knoxville)
*Rugby Songs movie (knoxville)

So like a small charge nothing big, I would say $4-$6. Again this would go back to the Club.

You don't have to buy the CD's at the end of the season, You can watch the free one's on the internet, but I though it would be nice to give something back.(in a small way)

Time for a change

I have been thinking about it for a while, Knoxville has one, Augusta has one. And well I think we need one too. I have made a Forum for us to use. I will still use the blog, but the Forum I think will help us get closer as a team.

http://noogarugby.freeforums.org/

This is sort of a test, but I am still working on stuff. Yes if this fly's then we can use it for the rest of the season and year.
Just I would like to ask for a little something from you guys. Please Join, and I will put you in Groups.

Like :
Nooga Team (Current team of Nooga)
Old Boys
Fan's (maybe)

But i need people to sign up, I made the Group for "Nooga members". But if I want to make more groups, I need people to join and then make them Admins of the Group.
Again hope you guys enjoy.

Also I need to take 20 different Clips because there all 4 mins long vs the 40 mins I wanted. But I can fix it, so it no problem. Just more work.

Word from David Humber:
Hi guys! Thank you for an enjoyable game on Saturday.Next time I will be sure to stay to get your team picture and also to shoot more action ... I will try and have some longer glass so that I grab more shots. I would also like to thank you all for looking after my nephew Ethan ... I always said that I wished that he could hang out with a bunch of well versed and upstanding Rugby Nuts.

Message from Coach !!! and other stuff.

Team,

Today's score was 41-6. First of all that's a points difference of 35 points. That's a lower score than the Renegades put by us. Second, this was a MUCH better team than the Renegades. In my opinion (and I still haven't seen Old White) this is the team to beat in our league. However, I am extremely frustrated because we could have won that game. We did not stay focused for the full 80 minutes and every time we switched off, they scored. I also suspect that fitness was a little lacking as well. But, let's focus on the positives: We dominated them for large periods of the game; we finally got our first points of the season (Sid's kicking practice before the game paid off); Our forwards again looked assertive; and I think within a couple of weeks/games we are going to have a back line that strikes fear into oppositions. We had 2 boys playing new positions today, Jake R. and Wells. 2 forwards who have been promoted/demoted (depending on your thinking) to our centers. I think they got caught out a couple of times trying to be forwards, but for the most part a big success. Well done lads. As with most of our players, things will get easier with experience. Unfortunately, that's the one thing Jeff and I can't teach. Speaking of Jeff, kudos to Jeff for stepping into a role most of us are quite happy to participate in from the sidelines, but few are willing to put their money where their mouth is and do it on the field. I am of course talking about Refereeing. I am sure I speak for all of us in thanking Jeff for stepping in and allowing a game of rugby to be played today.
Man-of-the-Match. I need to mention our MotM's from last week. I didn't send anything out last week (I was too pissed off actually!), but we need to make mention of 3 guys who played their socks off. Our backs MotM went to both Ryan and Pat (who played fly half for the first time). But our team and forward MotM went to Matt Rabine. Week in week out this guy just gives it his all, and today he had another outstanding performance. However, today's MotM's were Sid (backs) and Chewie (forwards) and yet again the forwards took team MotM with Chewie. Great job guys. I don't know if we've ever seen Chewie run 20-30 yards, ball in hand, handing off players (one he carried with him for 10 yards) just creating devastation in his wake. Nice!
Finally, we did have a couple of guys who didn't get onto the field. Normally in that situation (being down by 30 points) I would have got you out there for some playing time. It was my mistake not to get you out there. Sorry.
Ok, practice Tuesday. See you there.

Jared.

Message from Coach:

Team,

I have copied you with the contact list. It is as update as I have. If I am missing anyone's information please e-mail it to me.
Saturday is our first home game against Augusta. I am making some changes which I think, in the long run, are going to make us more of an attacking team. I expect us to compete very strongly tomorrow.
Meeting time is at 10:00am at the Rossville field. I don't recall anybody telling me they will not be there, so I am planning on seeing a full squad. You now have everybody's contact info, so take it upon yourself to call around and get players there.

See you tomorrow,

Jared.

5 Secrets of the Front Row

5 Secrets of the Front Row

Andrew Millward is a full time professional prop for the Ospreys, the Heineken Cup team providing the bulk of players to the current Welsh squad. Andrew is, moreover, a WRU level 3 coach. He spoke to me last year about some of the current techniques used by front rows at the top of the game.

1. Engage and chase quickly

At the top level scrummaging is an intense business. "Three second scrums" are the aim (apart from for pushover tries), so the ball is in and out quickly. All the effort comes from the engagement and beyond.

Too often, though, sides across the board stop on the engagement. In fact they should be driving forward as soon as the shoulders touch.

At the Ospreys, we concentrate on the speed of our feet movement going forwards, using quick, short steps. Calls certainly help with our timing. We use "hit, 1, 2, 3, 4", and then a quick step "1, 2, 1, 2". My main piece of advice here is sharpen up your calls.

2. Four locks together

Binding by the flankers at scrum time can be very random. On lots of different levels this can disrupt the scrum effort.

If a flanker can give me some support, then I have more weight behind me. From a communication and timing point of view, if everyone is scrummaging together, we will be better off.

We get our flankers to bind onto the locks BEFORE the locks bind onto the props. This avoids flankers binding late as they wait to find out the back row or backs moves. All our calls therefore need to be sorted out in advance of the binding.

3. Second row binding options

A long armed lock can struggle with binding through the legs. When the shove comes on, their arm can slip forwards and their shoulder disengage from the best pushing position on the behind of the prop.

My solution here is to turn their hand around, so the palm faces away from my shorts. This grip is more like an Olympic lift position, with the hand still wrapped in the drawstring area of the shorts.

4. All change for 5 metre scrums

I always like to try something completely different for a 5 metre scrum. I will use a tactic I have yet to use in the game, like changing the angle of my driving. Their prop won't know what to expect and I will hopefully gain the advantage.

With the 5 metre scrum being so crucial and dangerous to the defending side, this difference can cause the sort of disruption which increases pressure on the whole defence. But I save the tactic for when it's needed. If we don't have a 5 metre scrum I might not use the technique during the game.

5. Boss your opponent

What should I do at the first scrum of the game? Wait to find out how the other guy is going to scrummage, or impose my own style on him? These days I don’t wait.

I am lucky enough to have video analysis and so can look at and prepare an action plan for most of the props I might be playing against. Most props don't have these benefits, but they can consider two things come match day.

First, even if they don't know their opposite number's playing style, they can look at their body shape to give them some clues. In the most simple terms, the big guys will use their weight, whilst the smaller props will use technique.

Second, they want to give the other player the problems. And that is "problems" plural, because it's easier to scrummage against a prop who always does the same thing, no matter how good they do it.

So I suggest that your props learn to vary their approach for each scrum.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Support Play to Speed Up Your Attacks

When the ball carrier gets tackled to the ground, the support player is faced with two key decisions - play the ball or form a ruck. Paul Tyler looks at helping your players make the best decision depending on what is in front of them.

The support player needs to be close to the ball carrier before and during contact, offering physical support without overrunning the ball. He should communicate helpfully, where he is and what he wants the ball carrier to do. For instance, "stay on your feet", or "go to ground".

If the ball carrier cannot pass the ball away, once tackled to the ground he must place the ball as far back as he can towards his team, to give the support player options.

Option 1: pick and run - If there are no defenders nearby, the support player should pick up the ball and run straight.

Option 2: pick and pass - If there are defenders close by, the support player should pick up the ball and pass.

Option 3: ruck - If there are defenders so close by that the support player does not have the time to play the ball, he should form a quick ruck.

Pick and run exercise

The ball carrier goes to ground as if tackled and places the ball back. The first support player picks up the ball in a low position and passes to the second support player. This player takes the ball on for a few metres, then goes to ground so the exercise can be repeated.

Decision making exercise

Involve a defender in the above exercise, placed either 3 or 5 metres from the "tackle". If the defender is close, the support player should make the decision to pick and pass. If the defender is further away, the support player should make the decision to pick and run. You can vary the defender's position and the pace they move forward to increase the pressure.

You can develop this exercise further to practise quick ruck ball, by getting the defender closer to the ball carrier so the support player doesn't have time to play the ball.

Developing a quick ruck

When developing a ruck, the support player must tell the ball carrier they're going to form a ruck and then when to go to ground. After the ball carrier goes to ground, the support player should target and clear away the closest defender, with the intention of leaving the ball clear for the next support player.

As the attacking team you should commit as few players as possible to the ruck to win the ball. This gives you more options for the next attack.

Worst case scenario

You should drill your players to see slow ruck ball as a failure in attack, because it usually means the support players were too far away, or that the ball carrier was isolated or fell in a bad position.

Key points to slow ruck ball

* It is difficult to attack from a slow ruck since the defence has time to get organised.
* It doesn't matter if the ball then gets slower! So take your time and get organised for the next phase.
* Don't commit even more players to the ruck. Instead make sure your players are ready to win the ball at the next phase.
* Have a plan to create quicker ball at the next phase and then execute it.

Hey guy's we are thinking of making a new Website for the Team as some of you know. You maybe thinking " Why don't we use www.chattanoogarugby.com" Well we can't. The reason for this is because we don't own the website. Somebody else does and we aren't sure who (some have a idea). But like I said we maybe looking for a new site.

So far I have some info on this site call www.1and1.com it looks cheap and it may work.

Pitch a Tent 7's

Chattanooga Rugby Presents the

7th Annual Pitch A Tent 7's Tournament

July 25-27, 2008

With only a few weeks to go until the early registration period ends, the
CRFC wanted to remind everyonea about the 6th Annual Pitch A Tent 7's
Tournament in Chattanooga, TN on July 27-29, 2007. This year's tourney will
host a men's & women's social division with a maximum of 28 teams allowed
entry, so make sure to get your registration fees in early. As of now, we
have a decent amount of teams paid in full but the rush will come
quickly...so make sure to remember that we will not hold a spot for teams
that reply with emails, only your tourney payment will reserve your spot!

As stated in the first flyer, trophies & prizes will be awarded to the
placers, as well as, for team & personal efforts, a welcome social Friday
night, the main social Saturday night, camping, showers, swimming,
whitewater rafting, boat races, beer pong, flip cup, etc. We know you won't
want to miss out!

The big news since the last flyer is that the tournament committee has
realized that the 16 kegs we got last year just won't cut it anymore...so we've
made the decision to up the total to 24!!! We ran out last year and we knew
that it couldn't happen two years in a row....so hopefully the 8 extra kegs
will keep our thirst quenched throughout the entire weekend!!!

And like always, Chattanooga RFC's own Voodoo Lounge will once again be open
& ready Saturday night serving a FREE liquor bar. Normally, the Voodoo
Lounge opens around 7:00 pm and pours till the wee hours of the morning. In
the past we could get away with saying "all-u-can-drink"....but with the
amount of power drinkers that showed up last year, we ran out at 11:00
pm....so who knows this year!! All we can say is that you won't find
another social tourney with this much to offer!!! We promise you a great
time!!!

Listed below is all the information contained in the first flyer sent out
with a few extras added:

Please Note this April 2, 2008. The Chattanooga Rugby Team will be figuring out the information for the Pitch Sevens. Please Check often and please check the Nooga Blog for any updates.Thank you

Please Contact Peter L. Steyn - petersteyn@msn.com

If you have any questions about the Pitch Tent Sevens.

Two Messages from Coach

Team,

Hopefully I captured everybody on e-mail who wrote their addresses down for me this evening.
I'm hoping to see a boost in numbers again on Thursday. We have a cold week forecast for us, and despite the prospect of snow, yes SNOW! I expect to see everyone ready to go on Thursday. Actually the snow should be gone by Thursday.
Three things to consider this week:

1) CIPP registration. As I write this e-mail, only 3 people have CIPPed and two of those (well one anyway) are non-playing members. Caleb Hodnett was first - great job. Again, here is the link:
https://register.usarugby.org/rugby/DesktopDefault.aspx

2) Dues ($50.00). Please see the note I forwarded yesterday from Pete. We need the money. As with CIPP registration if you haven't paid it, you can't play. If you are new to the team this Spring, you are under no obligation to pay it. However, donations are gratefully accepted.

3) Nashville. I have not yet received information on times etc. from those guys, but I highly recommend that you all go. It will be an extremely beneficial experience. Like I have said before, we are not ready to play a game yet, and this would be one more step closer to being ready.

There are more things to consider, but I figured I'd be lucky if you retained three!!! If you have any questions, let me know either by e-mail or feel free to call. My number is listed below.

See you Thursday,

Coach.

--------------------------------------------------------

Team,

Some bad news tonight. We had about 5 cars broken into while we were at practice this evening. There was some damage to cars, and some significant items were taken. The police did arrive shortly after we noticed the problem and had called them. From this point on, I will ask that any players who are currently not able to practice through injury (or whatever) please attend practice so that we can have someone in the vicinity of the parking lot at all times to keep an eye on the cars. I hate to resort to this, but we have no choice. I think that this must have happened when we moved to the middle of the field, and were far enough away for them to do this without us hearing. These are kids we are talking about, not hardened criminals, and a presence should be enough to keep things safe. I would also encourage you to keep valuables to a minimum in your cars, and perhaps put items in your kit bag if you have to have them with you.
In the mean time, we are investigating alternative practice facilities. This really sucks and I'm extremely sorry for those who were affected.

Coach.
