Chattanooga Men's Rugby Team: Sponsorship

The Chattanooga Rugby Football Club, Inc (CRFC) would like to invite your organization to sponsor our upcoming 2011 rugby season as our club, for the 33rd year in row, represents the city of Chattanooga across the nation.

As for the CRFC, our program is also on the rise. In the past 6 months we’ve expanded our club to field two full teams with an active / social roster of over 60 people and are in the works with the City of Chattanooga to build / lease our own field. While those achievements have the club gaining momentum, our biggest strength is the continued success of our locally hosted Pitch A Tent 7’s Rugby Tournament. Over the past 8 years we’ve grown Pitch A Tent from an unknown, four team tournament to the “Best Rugby 7’s Tournament in the South” with over 50 teams participating yearly. Last year’s tournament attendance was estimated at approximately 600 people, more than half of which travelled over 8-hours to get here.

With the recent achievements highlighted above, the CRFC has also continued to place an emphasis on contributing back to the Chattanooga Area. Over the past year, the CRFC has held two youth centered clinics in association with the City of Chattanooga, participated in an annual Toys for Tots program during the Holidays, and volunteered at the Chattanooga Chapter of the Ronald McDonald House. As part of our club ethos, we plan to build on that level of service throughout 2011.
We hope to build on these achievements with our upcoming 2011 season, which officially kicks-off in early January and will continue through mid-April, with five home matches and seven away matches that will take us to Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis, Huntsville, & New Orleans. Depending on our performance in throughout the season further travel to regional and national playoffs could also be included. As you might expect, these trips can be costly, but we also have to account for uniforms, practice equipment, league & referee dues, and hosting duties for visiting teams. Currently, our players pay $200 a year in dues, which covers about 60% of our operating budget. For the rest we look for fundraisers or sponsorship opportunities. That’s where you come in! We’re hoping that we present a unique opportunity for your organization and would love to create a long lasting partnership.
